Hi folks -

I recently upgraded to WP 2.6, and the # of pages in my Translator cache dropped down to about 20. When I manually click on a link to translate a page I get "Safari could not open the page “http://www.simplehelp.net/ar/” because the server is not responding."

The server is up and running, the default language (English) works just fine. While deleting files and folders as a part of the WP 2.6 upgrade, did I delete the cache as well? The non-English pages are still showing up in Google search results, but time-out when attempting to view them.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Ross

Hi rossm,
Translator has no problem with Wordpress 2.6 and running well on our sites. I have analyzed your site and it is seemed that you have cleared some files and tables which are required by Translator for its successful operation. This problem can't be solved by just asking you something to test. So please file a support request at http://support.taragana.com so that we can have a closer look to it.

Did you delete any database table or decided not to backup some tables?
The translator cache is stored in wp_atpp_page_cache table in your database.

Replace wp with your chosen table prefix unless you are using the default.

I followed the same instructions that I do each time I update WordPress. I certainly didn't delete any database tables on purpose, or to my knowledge.

As requested I created a support ticket for this issue. It has been assigned to sayan, who has set the status to "in progress" - with 0 updates.

This is really not meant to be impolite, or rude in any way, so I certainly hope it does not come across as such. Please consider it nothing more than constructive feedback.

It's frustrating for end users to be told to look for support in the forums, then be told to create a ticket, then have the forums updated - and not their support ticket - when they have been checking the support ticket instead of the forums.

OK it has been over a week since my initial post, a week since I submitted a ticket, and still nothing. I know someone is working and not taking an extended summer break because I was emailed the 5.2 version (which normally I would say thanks! for, but it did nothing to resolve my issues). Could SOMEONE please help?

The support "ticket" is Task #00081

It was assigned to "sayan" 2 days after I created it. Two days ago I tried to help things move along by updating it with this info:

mysql> CREATE INDEX atpp_ul_index ON wp_atpp_page_cache (url, language);
ERROR 1061 (42000): Duplicate key name 'atpp_ul_index'
mysql> CREATE INDEX atpp_usm_index ON wp_atpp_page_cache (url, stale, manual);
ERROR 1061 (42000): Duplicate key name 'atpp_usm_index'
mysql> CREATE INDEX atpp_snmp_index ON wp_atpp_page_cache (stale, next_update, manual, priority); ERROR 1061 (42000): Duplicate key name 'atpp_snmp_index'

to help skip a step in troubleshooting (the tables seem to exist).

I have 54 items in my translator cache. I used to have thousands. It's been stuck at 54 for well over a week.

Someone at taragana - please - help!

Yes, you are right. We have been quite busy in testing and releasing the new version which delayed our response to you. Also we expected the problem to be resolved with the new release. However I came to know now from your post above that it wasn't so. We are looking into your issue and have assigned it high priority. We have provided details in your support ticket and how we can resolve it.

Take care,

Thank you for finally looking into it. However, your proposed solution is to provide you with root access to my server? That violates the #1 rule of security. As I mentioned in my response (over 24 hours ago, to which I have yet to hear back on) - I would be happy to sign an NDA and run the script that you want to run, then email you the results. Giving out admin access to my server is out of the question, and to be perfectly honest, I can't believe you even asked for it.

There appears to be some misunderstanding. We are not asking for root access to your server. All we requested was a temporary admin access to your blog. That will enable us to find and solve the problem for you. You can monitor all our actions from the logs. Feel free to check them.

We are in the business of creating products and ensuring that they work perfectly on all of our customers site. Protecting your data is of paramount importance to us as you are our valued client.

It will not help to give you the script as we may have to carry out several tests with it depending on the problem. In any case if you are unwilling we can try to debug your issue but it is likely to take long time.

I am closing this thread as there is an active support request on this issue and we will address it from there. It is hard for us to track the issue at both places. I have forwarded your issue to the customer support team and they have assigned it the highest priority.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Take care,
